Vision of Love’s dry ration for month of May was issued to 69 people who were from 14 villages in Vanni, Sri Lanka. The amount of rice and the dal issued was according to the number of family members, which ranged from 1 person to 6 people. Mrs Gnanasuthan Thanaledchumy has tented a poultry food shop in Odduchuddan Town. Her monthly rent is Rs.3000 although she has moderate income through sales. She does not have adequate racks to store goods and construction of racks are essential to improve her business. On the 21st April 2018, EHV conducted a parenting program for which 198 parents/guardians were present with 95% of them being mothers. In this session, the officials of the Education Department such as principals and the in-service advisors interacted with the parents emphasising important points such as parents being a good role model for children, negative impacts of modern technology and encouraging kids to read outside of school curriculum.
